Live Music
Mountain Lion Trappers
Mountain Lion Trappers are bringing their legendary Rock n’ Roll covers back for the fifth year in a row. This band has been with Head for Hills since the beginning, and the dance party gets bigger every year. Spanning music from 1950s to present day, this seasoned group offers a wide variety of music that is sure to get the Trafalgar Sports Park rocking on Saturday evening. Mountain Lion Trappers will be sure to finish Head for the Hills on a high note!
That Celtic Band
Featuring musicians with a variety of heritages from Ireland, Scotland, England, Newfoundland, and Acadia, That Celtic Band represents a fresh approach to Celtic Music. With an eye on musical composition, this quintet will entertain you with your favourite traditional and modern songs spanning across the Atlantic Ocean; from Ireland and the British Isles through Canada’s East Coast and beyond. Take the time to find out why everyone is ranting about “that band they saw last night”.
Fiddlestix
Fiddlestix showcases a wide variety of music all wrapped around Steve Bowen’s Extreme Electric Violin playing. Ontario’s premier Fiddle Show, Fiddlestix has experienced everything from heralding the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Toronto performing alongside Gord Downie (Tragically Hip), multiple appearances on Toronto’s Breakfast Television and performing for the Canadian and American Ambassadors in South East Asia. Fiddlestix and their high energy show never fails to mesmerize audiences.
The Jake Chisholm Band
Inspired by classic blues, soul and rock n’ roll, Jake Chisholm’s tasteful yet intricate guitar work and songwriting evokes vivid and shameless tales of love, lust, and lessons learned. An in demand session player on the Toronto jazz & blues scene, Chisholm earned a reputation as a talented and respected vocalist/guitar player. There is a sincerity in Chisholm’s music that is immediately identifiable. No fancy bells and whistles here, just a deep and full sound that is a fresh take on blues and adding rock ‘n’ roll elements.
Games
Dodgeball
What better way to blow off steam between beer booths than throw dodgeballs relentlessly at fellow beer enthusiasts? (Don’t worry the dodgeballs are extra soft for maximum fun). Play a round or keep coming back during the day “tournament style” to defend your title.
This game is run by local organization, Tag In Sports, who developed an app designed to connect people with similar sports interests and encourage physical activity in our area. Drink some beer, throw some dodgeballs, have some fun!
